Welcome to side for Digital.ai. side is a demo storytelling tool that allows you to craft compelling narratives across all your customer's enterprise platforms.

To get started, use the selectors on the right to start creating experiences right away. Or, if you prefer, use the tabs at the top to explore all side has to offer.

You can read a quick 3 step tutorial on the features of side, learn how side works, or request new platforms or data objects for future releases. You can even request to contribute to the project or contact us with other questions, comments, or concerns.

Use side in 3 easy steps!

Step 1

Start by selecting the platform you wish include in your story.

Next, select the data object, form, or screen you wish to use.

Finally, select the output format you are looking for. Typical outputs include HTML (for web forms), JSON (for web service integrations), or CSV (for application imports).

Other formats exist but are limited based on the platform and object you selected.

Step 2

Once you've selected the platform and object you're interested in you will see a form appear below the selector that lists all the fields available for use in your story.

Fill out any of the items you wish to be populated. If you leave an item blank, it will be populated by that application's default value. If you don't want the default value displayed select the "clear value" option and that field will be rendered with no value.

For drop-down lists, select one of the standard values or select the "create new" option to add a new value to the rendered drop-down list.

Step 3

Now you're ready to create your story. The simplest way to start is by clicking the "Show Me Now" button.

This will render the output you've configured in a new web browser tab (or download the configured content depending on the format you've selected).

If you'd prefer to use your creation directly in an integration, there are several options available.

URL: Click the URL tab to copy your fully configured URL with Query string to your clipboard for use in any browser session or GET REST call. You will also find a Host URL for use with the Digital.ai Release Plugins on this tab.
JSON: Click the JSON tab for the fully formatted JSON payload to be used in an integration tool of your choice.
CURL: Cut and paste a fully functional CURL command into your CLI.

Request a Platform, Object, or Feature

We rely on your input to make side valuable. By telling us the platforms, objects, screens, and outputs that are relevant to your demo stories, you help us improve the coverage offered by our tool and improve its overall value.

Likewise, if you need a feature or form interaction for an existing object that isn't currently available, please let us know.
